Invoice templates for auto electricians billing customers for vehicle diagnostics, EV work, alarm installation, and electrical repairs.
An auto electrician invoice is issued by a specialist automotive electrical technician to a vehicle owner or fleet operator for electrical fault diagnosis and repair, component installation, EV battery system work, and automotive electronic upgrades. Auto electricians work on the complex electrical systems of modern vehicles, from 12V lighting to high-voltage EV drivetrain components. With the rapid growth of electric vehicles in the UK, auto electricians with EV training and qualification (particularly IMI EV qualifications at Level 2 or Level 3) are in high demand. Working on high-voltage EV systems requires specific qualifications to meet health and safety requirements. Auto electricians may work in a fixed workshop, as mobile technicians, or as part of a dealership or fleet maintenance operation. Mobile auto electricians who can diagnose and repair vehicles at the customer's location are particularly valued by fleet operators and businesses with vehicles that cannot easily be moved.

Issue invoices on completion of the work, with all parts listed individually. For diagnostic work where no repair is carried out, charge the diagnostic fee as a standalone invoice item. For EV high-voltage work, include a reference to the relevant IMI EV qualification level on the invoice and any safety certificate issued. This is important for warranty and insurance purposes. For alarm and tracker installations, include the product serial number, category rating (Thatcham CAT 1, CAT 2, etc.), and any warranty card information on the invoice. This information is often required for insurance purposes. For mobile call-outs, include a call-out fee and travel charge clearly on the invoice. Mobile auto electricians attending breakdowns may also charge for emergency or out-of-hours rates.
