Invoice templates for private art teachers billing students for one-to-one lessons, workshops, and art classes.
An art teacher invoice is issued by a self-employed art instructor to a student or parent for private art lessons, group workshops, or structured art classes. Private art teachers teach drawing, painting (watercolour, oils, acrylics), printmaking, illustration, and other visual arts disciplines to students of all ages and abilities. Art teachers may work from home studios, hire community or educational space, or visit students at home. Group workshops are a time-efficient model for generating income while building a community around your teaching. Many art teachers have degrees in fine art or art education, teaching qualifications (PGCE), or a combination of professional practice and teaching experience. Some hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and teach in schools while also taking private clients.

For regular weekly students, monthly invoicing is straightforward. For workshops and one-off sessions, take payment at booking or on the day. For children's art classes, invoice parents monthly or per term. School holiday intensive workshops are popular; invoice in advance with a non-refundable deposit. If you supply materials (paper, paints, brushes), either include the cost in your session fee or charge a materials fee separately. Be transparent about what students need to bring and what is provided. For group workshops, take a deposit to confirm places. Empty seats in a workshop represent real loss; a deposit (typically 50% of the workshop fee) reduces no-shows.
